IDEA FIRST
Anyone can enter with an idea
No portfolio, no prior wins, no fee to apply. The qualifier is judged on the problem you pick and how clearly you see the user — not on who you already are.TEAMS, NOT SOLOISTS
Built for crews of 2–4
Every BuildFest is a team event. Invite codes make it trivial to pull in the designer or the backend friend you needed, from any college.ON CAMPUS
The final round is in the room
Qualifiers run online; finals run on a partner campus with mentors, judges and a real deadline. That room is where the work gets finished.How a BuildFest runs
Five phases,
one clear path.
The same structure every time, so students know what’s coming and colleges know what they’re hosting.

Announce & apply
A host college and Vedspace publish the event, themes and problem statements. Students enrol and form teams — free.

Idea screening
Each team commits to one problem and submits its idea. A judge panel scores impact, feasibility and originality on a fixed rubric.

Selection & seats
Top teams are offered a seat in the finals. Waitlisted teams move up as seats free. The confirmation fee is the only cost in the whole journey.

The build sprint
24–36 hours on campus. Versioned submissions, check-ins, mentor rounds and a final demo to the jury.

Proof & doors
Verified certificates with public codes, and — with your consent — a builder profile that Vedspace can surface to hiring partners.

These are enforced in the platform, not just written on the wall.
Transparent judging
Every round has a published rubric. Scores are recorded per criterion, per judge, with an audit trail.
Free until you're in
Application, team formation and idea screening never cost anything. A fee appears only when a team confirms a finals seat.
Proof that travels
Certificates carry a verification code anyone can check. No PDF-forwarding, no 'trust me'.
Colleges as partners
Host colleges co-own the event: their coordinators see applications, their campus hosts the finals, their students get first access.

Vedspace Ventures builds the infrastructure for student ambition.
Vedspace works with colleges to run programmes that give students real things to point at: hackathons, verified credentials and a path from campus work to industry opportunity. BuildFest is our flagship event format, and this platform — applications, judging, payments, certificates — is purpose-built for it.
